Privacy
Only what it takes to tell you it's here.
Who's responsible
Vitgranen AB (org. no. 559421-9791), Vitgransgatan 9, 247 33 Södra Sandby, Sweden, is the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions about your data go to order@porous.systems.
What we collect, and why
- When you ask to hear when Platter goes on sale: your email address, your first name if you give it, and when you signed up. We use them for one thing: to email you when Platter goes on sale. We do it because you asked us to (your consent), and you can take that back at any time.
- When you send the form: to tell people from scripts, the form runs Vercel's bot check, which looks at signals from your browser for that one request. We keep nothing from it (our legitimate interest in keeping the list free of spam).
- When you visit the page: our host keeps short-lived technical logs, such as your IP address and browser, to run the site and keep it secure (our legitimate interest).
- How many people visit, and what they do: we count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. Each page view is recorded with the page's address, the site that sent you here, roughly where you are (country, region, city), your browser, your operating system and the kind of device. We also count three things done on the page: touching the record (and whether in the 3D view at the top or under Try it), signing up for the sale email (never your address or name), and opening the stand's files on MakerWorld. It sets no cookies: Vercel tells one visitor from another by a code made from your browser's request, and throws that away after 24 hours, so a visit can't be followed from one day to the next or linked to you. We see only totals. We do it to learn whether the page works and what people come for (our legitimate interest).
- On your own device: once you've signed up, your browser remembers it (in its local storage), so the page says you're on the list instead of asking again. It isn't sent to us, and clearing your browser's site data removes it. The page sets no cookies and has no advertising.
Playing with the record on the page (tapping, swiping, turning the sound on) happens in your browser. All we learn of it is the count above: that the record was touched.
Who else handles it
We use a few providers, each bound by a data processing agreement:
- Resend, which keeps the list of people who signed up and will send the email when Platter goes on sale.
- Vercel, which hosts this page, runs its bot check and counts its visits (Vercel Web Analytics).
- Google, for our email inbox and for the fonts on this page, which your browser loads from Google's servers.
Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where data leaves the EU/EEA, it's protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the EU's standard contractual clauses.
The music in the demo is played from our own server. Links to the Free Music Archive, MakerWorld and Bench take you to their sites, where their own privacy policies apply.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address and name until we've sent the email saying Platter is on sale, and delete the list within a month after. If you unsubscribe before then, using the link in the email or by writing to us, we delete you sooner. We never sell your data, and we won't use it for anything else without asking you first.
The visit counts hold nothing that identifies you. Vercel keeps them, as totals, for the analytics period of our plan.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or hand it over in a portable format. You can also object to how we use it, and withdraw your consent at any time, which doesn't affect what we did before. Email order@porous.systems and we'll reply within a month. If you think we're handling your data wrongly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY), imy.se.
